My Perfect Fidget: How I Found My Ideal 3DMade Antistress Toy

I have been exploring the world of fidgets for quite some time, driven first by curiosity and then by genuine interest. In recent years, they have become incredibly popular. Fidgets are everywhere, used by both adults and children for fun, to fight boredom, to release tension, or to improve focus. They serve many purposes and, in some cases, are used as a support for neurodivergent people, for example those with ADHD, autism, or high anxiety.

In my case, curiosity came from two sides: the playful one, since I have always loved small antistress objects and fun things to handle, and the personal one, because as someone who struggles with anxiety and panic attacks, I am always looking for ways not to get overwhelmed by my thoughts. I tend to overthink a lot, and sometimes I need something to stop the endless stream of thoughts. That is why I thought fidgets could be an interesting way to channel tension and find calm.

Over time, I have tried many: stress balls, spinners, soft fidgets, noisy ones, quiet ones, but none of them really suited me. Some relaxed me for a while but then started to irritate me. Others simply didn’t give me the sense of mental freedom I was looking for. I began to think that maybe the perfect fidget didn’t exist.

With time, however, I realized something important. Every fidget affects each person differently. What feels relaxing for one might be boring or even stressful for another. That is what makes them so fascinating: they are not universal objects but very personal tools.

For a while, I was drawn to flexible fidgets like the Tangle, which I liked for its smooth texture and the pleasant feeling in my hands. Yet even that one, after a while, left me with a sense of limitation, as if the movement wasn’t completely free. I understood that my ideal fidget needed to be flexible, fluid, endlessly movable, without barriers or limits in how it could be handled.

Then, this summer, while scrolling through Instagram, I came across a reel by the content creator Smibie, showing a snake-shaped fidget made by 3dmade.it. I was instantly fascinated by it: the sound, the colors, the way it moved between her hands.

I opened their profile 3DMade, read their story, checked the materials and the artisanal production, and fell in love. So I decided to order two of their snakes.

And now I can finally say it: I think I’ve found my perfect fidget.

I chose two, one longer and one shorter. Both are made from high-quality materials, pleasant to the touch, with a rhythmic and delicate sound that I find hypnotic. The longer snake is my favorite for its texture and sound, while the shorter one is perfect for its compact size, easy to hold and play with. If they ever created a fusion of the two, the softness of the long one in the shape of the small one, I think it would be my ultimate ideal fidget.

What I love most is that these fidgets are handmade by a small Italian brand, 3dmade. On their website you can find many different models, including adorable mini versions. They are beautifully designed, satisfying to hold, and very affordable. I already know I will place another order soon because their variety is amazing.

I wanted to share this experience because in this blog I love to talk about the things that make me feel good. For me, fidgets are a small sensory refuge, a way to return to the present through something tangible, simple, and fun.

And what about you? Have you ever tried any fidgets? Do you have a favorite one, or have you never entered this world? Tell me in the comments, I would love to know how these little and fascinating objects make you feel.
